Gramophone Records

As a passionate fan of music, Pavle Beljanski had made a collection of gramophone records featuring masterpieces of classic and modern composers. He had taken great care in choosing performers and conductors of music by Bach, Beethoven, Wagner, Chopin, Baize, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, etc. Orchestra performing «The Firebird» by Igor Stravinsky was conducted by the author himself, and the pianist Sergei Rachmaninoff played in the orchestral version of his Symphony in E minor. Beljanski acquired luxuriously packed records in Italy and France, and also ordered some from England. During the World War II, artists and friends of the family used to gather in sculptor Sreten Stojanovic’s house in the Professors’ Colony in Belgrade, where Pavle Beljanski arranged listening sessions during their afternoons of socializing. Thanks to the donation by Beljanski heirs, today we can also enjoy the outstanding musical performances on these records.
